Meet Our Principal Lawyer
Prabodi Kapuge
Prabodi Kapuge is the Director and Principal Lawyer of Guide U Legal.
She is a legal practitioner with experience in both jurisdictions of Australia and Sri Lanka, and brings a strong, client-centred and trauma-informed approach to her practice. Prabodi is deeply passionate about human rights and about helping people who may feel overwhelmed, vulnerable, or unsure where to turn. Her goal is to make legal services approachable, respectful, and focused on practical solutions that truly help people move forward.
Professional Background
Prabodi completed her legal studies at Monash University and the Leo Cussen Centre for Law. She is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria and the High Court of Australia, allowing her to practise in federal courts across Australia.
She has frontline legal experience with leading human rights and disability organisations, including work connected with the Mental Health Tribunal, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), County Court of Victoria and Supreme Court of Victoria . This experience has strengthened her commitment to advocating for vulnerable individuals and those navigating complex legal systems.
In addition to these experiences, Prabodi has developed expertise in estate planning and administration, employment law, business law, migration, and conveyancing, enabling her to guide clients through significant life and business transitions with clarity and confidence.
Prabodi is a practising member of the Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) since 2026, which supports her ongoing professional development and commitment to high professional standards.
She is also a qualified legal practitioner in Sri Lanka, with experience across both criminal and civil matters, and has been a member of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) since 2017. Her cross-jurisdictional background enables her to assist clients from diverse communities with understanding and cultural sensitivity.

As a mother of two, a migrant, and the daughter of a single parent who grew up in a community with limited resources, Prabodi brings lived understanding of the challenges many families face to her empathetic and supportive legal practice.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading, painting, travel, and spending time with her family.
